Human Resources Business Partner – Jack of All Trades Our Human Resources Business Partner, we believe, is a Talent Scout, a Coach and a Counselor. It is the person who can open the door to many of our future superstars. It is the person that can shape the future of Ingram by encouraging associates to be Innovators, Disrupters or Change Agents (I know! we just used corporate buzzwords). It is the person that help grow the talent by working with them to shape their career. Sounds like a powerful position to be in – hence why we see it as “Jack of All Trades” Probably never heard of Ingram?
At Ingram, we think the IT industry is the place to be. Our children are learning coding at school so imagine what the world would be like in the next ten years. Okay….so Ingram are not the young, hip start up that is driving innovation in tech, in fact we have been around longer than the age of many of our associates. However, the IT industry has many valuable players in the channel, think of us as the Ross Taylor (Cricket Legend) of the IT industry. Trusted, Passionate and Dominant. We add value to the industry by our broad reaching knowledge of all the other players on the field. We partner with vendors such as Microsoft, HP, IBM and work with our resellers to build the right solution for the end user. But what would you be doing?
Connecting, then keeping talent is getting harder every day. They move fast as they are after many different things in their lives such as, work life balance, career progression, exciting projects. The best talent is slipping through the net and we need to be more proactive to connect with them. We are looking for someone to take the next leap into their HR career, potentially already been in an HR Business Partner role for two years but ready to take on more ownership. We want someone that loves to be autonomous and can think fast, then act fast. To have the creative gene to think outside of the box, come up with new programs with the main objective to bring on and grow the future innovators and disrupters to the world of Ingram. This role is supporting half of the business (mixture of Sales roles and Supporting Functions) on all their HR requirements, from career planning and development, to compensation analysis, to supporting the recruitment activities….no day is ever the same.
